Abstract
This paper defines landslide Early Warning Systems and presents practical guidelines to assist end-users with limited experience in the design of landslide Early Warning Systems (EWSs), with two flow chart-based tools from the SafeLand project. The work provides fundamental concepts for understanding and implementing landslide early warning systems, making it an essential reference for practitioners and researchers in the field of landslide risk management.
