About

Kaushal Gnyawali is a Ph.D. candidate in Geotechnical engineering at the University of British Columbia. His work focuses on landslide analysis, rock-ice avalanche dynamic modelling, and debris flow hazard assessment.

He develops terrain-based mitigation measures for small-scale debris flows in steep watersheds. His expertise spans landslide hazards in the Himalayas and western Canada, with over a decade of research on rainfall- and earthquake-triggered landslides, remote sensing, spatial-temporal relationships, and early warning for cascading geo-hazards.
