About
Sabrina Martinez is a space scientist with NASA's Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit. Her work connects orbital and handheld Earth imagery with scientific investigations and disaster response operations.
She previously served as a geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, where she contributed to the National Landslide Hazard Maps project and used radar and optical remote sensing to monitor and map landslides across the United States. Her landslide research includes earthquake-triggered ground-failure inventories, remote mapping workflows for the 2018 Anchorage earthquake, and continental-scale landslide susceptibility modeling.
Sabrina holds an M.S. in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Tulane University and a B.S. in Geology from the University of Houston.
