Dr. Zhong Lu is a Professor and the Shuler-Foscue Endowed Chair in the Roy M. Huffington Department of Earth Sciences at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. A leading expert in space-geodetic imaging, his research focuses on advancing Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) techniques to monitor landslides, volcanoes, coastal processes, and other geophysical phenomena.
He has authored or co-authored over 300 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, as well as the book "InSAR Imaging of Aleutian Volcanoes: Monitoring a Volcanic Arc from Space" (Springer, 2014).
Dr. Lu has served on several NASA SAR Science Teams, including the NISAR and VenSAR missions and NASA/JPL OPERA project. He is a Fellow of both the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
